| Violinist Svend Rønning is Assistant Professor of Violin at Pacific Lutheran University and concertmaster of the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Rønning studied with Ann Tremaine at PLU and with Syoko Aki, Sidney Harth and Jaap Schroeder at Yale University, where he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. He has taught at the University of Virginia, the Shenandoah Conservatory, and the Eastern Music Festival and has served as concertmaster of the Charlottesville Symphony, the San Jose Symphony, and the Spoleto USA Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Rønning has performed as recitalist and soloist throughout the world and has recorded with the Prague Radio Symphony and for National Public Radio. He is also a co-founder of the Puget Sound Consort, an ensemble for Early Music in the Puget Sound region of Washington state. | ![]() |
